Nine Essential Knife Skills to Master video from Epicurious
If you are in Chicago, I recommend the hands-on knife skills class at The Chopping Block (it’s where I learned my knife skills many moons ago, and also where I purchased the chef’s knife that I still use today)
Here is a description of the four knives you need in your kitchen (If you are more plant-forward, you can get by with a chef’s knife, paring knife, and a serrated bread knife. There is no need for a carving knife if you don’t eat meat).
